3x - y = 0
5x + 2y = 22

Multiply both sides by 2.

6x - 2y = 0
5x + 2y = 22

Eliminate one variable by adding the equations

11x = 22

Divide both sides by 11

x = 2

Substitute the value of x into the equation.

3 x 2 - y = 0

Solve the equation

y = 6

Therefore,

x = 2
y = 6

3x - y = 0 \: (1) \\ 5x + 2y = 22 \: (2) \\ (1) \: -> y = 3x \: (3) \\ (2), \: (3) \: - > 5x + 2 * 3x = 22 \\ 5x + 6x = 22 \\ 11x = 22 \\ x = 2 \: (4) \\ (1), \: (4) \: - > 3 * 2 - y = 0 \\ 6 - y = 0 \\ y = 6 \\So: \: x = 2, \: y = 6
