Question

So, I am about to start college in the summer, and I was thinking about my major. So, I told my parents that I wanted to major in Art as an animator. But my parents are really strict and want me to be an engineer. They are also telling me that drawing is just a hobby and even if I do get my master's in Animation that my job won't pay good. Should I listen to them and just become an engineer, or become an artist? Some people are just like do what you want. But I feel like my parents are right. What if I don't get a good salary. PLEASE HELP.

do what you know you'd enjoy doing, you want a job that you wont hate not a job that youd not like going to everyday, but if salary is that much of a concern to you maybe go with the one that pays most.

In my opinion you should do what you love. It is very unlikely to have a successfully career in art, and engineering is definitely a safer choice. But life is about taking risks, and you want to do what makes you happy with the time you have
