Why is the development of writing important in the history of early civilizations?

It helped conduce the development of city-states and civilizations in general. Writing is so ubiquitously useful that it'd be near impossible to describe the myriad of implementations it has. Some of the most beneficial uses would include:

1. The ability to archive information such as administrative statistics, history, and technology, as opposed to orally transmitting info which is comparatively inaccurate, transient, and not as flexible.
2. More accurate and greater ability to tax- an instrumental component of all civilizations.
3. Greater productivity in trade, agriculture, and manufacturing, as workers and merchants could now stipulate and meet quotas.
4. Helped expedite communication along great distances,
