Pretend that the inequality symbol is a equal sign. Divide 2 on both sides

it should look like this:|x+10| > 3 (Reason being you are trying to isolate the absolute value symbol so you divide 2 on both sides and 9 divided by 2 is 3)

Now take the absolute value of both sides. (You should still have the same answer you are just getting rid of the absolute value symbol) so now it should look like this : x+10>9

Subtract 10 on both sides ( reason being you are trying to isolate the variable now)

so your answer is x>-1

(The symbol is suppose to be greater than or equal to symbol...im on my laptop & I dont have that button)

I hope this helps!

2(x+10) >= 9

2x + 20 >= 9

2x >= -11

x >= -11/2

-2(x+10) >= 9

-2x - 20 >= 9

-2x >= 29

x <= -29/2

Answer

x <= -29/2 or x >= -11/2
