y=2x-9

rise over run = y2-y1/x2-x1.

plug the points into the formula:
(-5-(-1))/(2-4)

Finish it up:
(-4)/(-2) = 2

hence the 2. now it intercepts the y-axis at -9 hence the 9.

the formula of the equation is y=mx+b. m is the slope (2) and b is the y-intercept (-9) if you plug those into the equation you get y=2x-9
