The correct option is B) “Amenhotep forced monotheism on the people”. Amenhotep was the king in ancient Egypt in 1353-56 BC. At that time, Egypt had a polytheistic religion since they worshiped several deities. But all of the sudden, Amenhotep decided to replace polytheistic religion by a monotheistic religion with only one god, which was called “Aten”. Aten was a sun-disk figure and due to this change of religion Amenhotep also changed his name to Akhenaten which meant “of great use of Aten”.
So option A) is incorrect because Amenhotep implemented a monotheistic religion.
Option D) is also incorrect since king Tut was Amenhotep’s successor and instead of worshiping him, Tut reinstated the previous polytheistic religion and cults that were removed previously.
As regards option C), even though a new city and temples were created during Amenhotep reign, it was the change in religion that most affected Egypt at that time.
