Two angles are conplementary.the smaller is 25 less than the larger. what is the larger angle

complementary angles sum to 90°

let x represent the large angle then the smaller angle = x - 25 thus

x + x - 25 = 90

2x - 25 = 90

add 25 to both sides

2x = 90 + 25 = 115

divide both sides by 2

x =
(115)/(2) = 57.5

larger angle = 57.5° and smaller angle = 57.5° - 25 = 32.5°

note 57.7 + 32.5 = 90
