Because the shape is a rectangle, the area formula is pretty simple:

A = lw

If you multiply the length and width together, you should get the area. I can't see the length and width well enough to use the problem as an example, but lets say the length is 5 and the width is 7:

A = 5 * 7

A = 35

In that case, the area would be 35.
