A hairstylist schedules 1/4 hour tot trim a customer's hair and 1/6 hour to style the customer's hair.

Hours scheduled for 1 customer = trim + style the customer hair

=
(1)/(4) + (1)/(6)=(10)/(24) = (5)/(12)

So 1 customer can be scheduled for 5/12 hours

The hairstylist plans to work
3(1)/(2) or (7)/(2)hours each day

We find out how many customers can be scheduled per day

((7)/(2))/((5)/(12))=(42)/(5) = 8.4

Its approximately 8 appointments per day

He works for 5 days in a week

So 5 * 8 appointments = 40 appointments

40 appointments can the hairstylist schedule each week if each customer must be trimmed and styled
