Is x=-2 a solution of the equation 1-6x=7?

No because if you multiply a positive times a negative you will just get a negative and 7 isn't an negative so no.

In order to figure this out, you must solve the equation.

1-6x=7 (given)

-6x=6 (subtract 1 from both sides)

X=-1 (divide both sides by -6)

The answer is no.
