Simply combined like terms. I like to start with the first two sets of variables.

  • 3y-4y=-1y or -y

Then replace 3y-4y with -y

  • -y+3y=2y

So, 3y-4y+3y simplified is 2y

All have y
3-4 = -1
-1+3 = 2
2y is the answer
