First, start by adding like variables on the same side of the equal sign

  • 33+15w= 2w+4w
  • 33+15w= 6w

Next, subtract 15w from both sides to get like terms on the same side

  • 33+15w(-15w)=6w(-15w)
  • 33=-9w

Finally, divide -9 on both sides to get the variable alone

  • 33(/-9)=-9w(-9)
  • 24=w or w=24

3w minus w is 2w, +4w is 6w. subtract 15 w both sides of the equation to get 33 on one side, and 9w on the other side. divide 9 on both sides, and the nswer is 3 and 2/3.
