6(n + 6)(n - 2)

take out a common factor 6

= 6(n² + 4n - 12)

to factor the quadratic consider the factors of - 12 which sum to + 4

These are + 6 and - 2

6n² + 24n - 72 = 6(n + 6)(n - 2)
