Morgan and Michael went shopping. They each got a T-Shirt, and Morgan got a pair of shoes. Michael had a $12 gift certificate to put towards the cost, and Morgan paid the rest which came to $36.50. The shoes cost $22. How much does one T-Shirt cost?

Let the price of one T-Shirt be "x".

Therefore, the price of two T-Shirts will be 2x....Equation 1

Now, it is given that the cost of shoes is $22......Equation 2

Michael and Morgan together pay a total of $12 (from the gift certificate) plus $36.50=$48.50.........................Equation 3

Therefore, the above equations give us:

2x+22=48.50

2x=48.50-22=26.50

\therefore x=13.25

Thus, the cost of one T shirt is $13.25
