1/3 is 5/15 so you can fill 5/15 +5/15 (2bags) and you will have 2/15 pounds left

Answer:

2 bags filled and
(2)/(5) granola left

Explanation:

We are given that a large bag contains
(12)/(15) pounds of granola .

We have to find how many
(1)/(3) bags can be filled with given amount of granola and how much left over.

Total amount of granola =
(12)/(15)=(4)/(5)

Amount in one bag=
(1)/(3)

Number of bags=
(4)/(5)/ (1)/(3)

Number of bags=
(4)/(5)* 3

Number of bags=
(12)/(5)=2(2)/(5)=2+(2)/(5)

Therefore, number of bags=2

Because bag number cannot be in fraction

Amount of granola left =
(2)/(5)
