The correct answer is D) Tribes were treated as foreign nations.

The United States government dealings with Indian tribes resemble other negotiations in that tribes were treated as foreign nations.

The story of the Native American Indian tribes and the federal government was very complex and full of conflicts. Since the firsts days of the English colonies in the North American territory, many differences and problems aroused. The Native American Indian tribes respected and honored nature for everything it provided. That is why the Indians offered chants and dances. On the other hand, English colonists were interested in the land as a natural resource and its raw materials to exploit them and have a profit. Time went by and the Indians were removed from their territories until they had to move to the Indian territory, nowadays Oklahoma.
