3x + 4y = - 8

The equation of a line in standard form is Ax + By = C

where A is a positive integer and B, C are integers

Express the line in ' slope- intercept form '

y = mx + c → (m is the slope and c is the y-intercept)

here m = -
(3)/(4) and c = - 2

hence y = -
(3)/(4) x - 2 → equation in slope- intercept form

multiply all terms by 4

4y = - 3x - 8

add 3x to both sides

3x + 4y = - 8 → in standard form

Answer:

The answer is 2y+3x+4 = 0

Explanation:

The standard formula for finding equation of a line is expressed as;

y = mx+c where;

m is the slope/gradient

c is the intercept i.e tgw point where the line cuts the y axis

Given slope of -3/4 and y intercept of -2;

m = -3/2, c = -2

Substituting this given values into the formula for equation of a line we have;

y = -3x/2+(-2)

y = -3x/2-2

Multiplying the resulting equation through by 2 gives;

2y = -3x-4

2y+3x+4 = 0
