Twice the sum of a number and 5 is equal to three times the difference of the number and 2. What is the answer

2(x + 5) = 3(x - 2)

Distributive property on both sides.

2x + 10 = 3x - 6

Add 6 to both sides.

2x + 16 = 3x

Subtract 2x from both sides.

x = 16 (This is your answer.)
