What does digital media allow you to do?

Digital media allows you to form _______with people participating in a network. This is commonly seen in social media networks. 
I think its connections but the shiiiit ain't right

I don't know what your answering but it seems right to put 'connections' for the answer. Other wise I would suggest 'specific cases or 'relationships'. I'm just guessing :)
