Hi!

Let's check your answer by doing the opposite.

-----------------------------------

The way to find the area of a rectangle is multiplying the width by height. So you need to multiply

3(1)/(8) * 6(2)/(5) =  ?.

The opposite of multiplying those, is dividing them.

? / 3(1)/(8) = 6(2)/(5)

Now since you're saying the answer is 20, put in the value.

20 / 3(1)/(8) = 6(2)/(5)

----------------------------------

Convert the mixed numbers to improper fractions by multiplying the whole number by the denominator then adding it to the numerator. The denominator stays the same.

3 * 8 + 1 = 25

6 * 5 + 2 = 32

20 / (25)/(8) = (32)/(5)

--------------------------------

Now solve.

(160)/(25) = (32)/(5)

Simplify

(32)/(5) = (32)/(5)

------------------------------------------

Your answer is correct!

Hope this helps! :)
