Richard works at an ice cream shop. Regular cones get two scoops of ice cream; large cones get three scoops. One hot Saturday, Richard scooped 234 regular cones and 156 large cones. One scoop of ice cream is 3 ounces. A tub of ice cream weighs 10 pounds. How many tubs of ice cream did Richard use to make the cones?

Answer: The answer is 18 tubs

Explanation: First you multiply the 234 cones by 2 and get 468, then you multiply the 156 by 3 and get 468 again. Now you need to add 468 and 468 which gives you 936. So, we know we have 936 scoops total, we now need to multiply the total numer of scoops by 3 because each scoop weights 3oz. Once we do that we should get 2808. We know that 1 pound = 16 oz so we must divide 2808 by 16 and then we get 175.5 and now we have to divide it by 10tubs to get our answer which is 17.55. Although we used .55 of a tub so we need to round up to 18. I hope this helped you!
