Why do hikers attempt to climb Mount Everest only during a two-week period each year?

there are only two weeks each year when the weather is calm enough for climbing to be safe

Explanation: Most of the year, Mount Everest has extreme cold weather to where no person is able to go up on the mountain. Most of the time Mount Everest has extreme snowstorms and very harsh cold winds. There are only two weeks where the weather is calm enough to be climbing up there.
