A department store is having a sale where a pocketbook is on sale for 1/4 off the retail price. Then entitled 30% off the sale price. The retail price is 800. What will have to be pay in sales tax if the tax is 9% of the final price of the pocketbook?

$800 x .25 = $200 (1/4 off the retail price)

$800 - $200 = $600 (Sale Price)

$600 x .30 = $180 (entitled 30% off)

$420 (Final Price) x .09 (tax) = $37.80

Sales Tax on Final Price (Answer): $37.80
