Labor unions were formed in the late 1880s, after they were formed, factory life changed dramatically.

Part A: Compare and contrast at least two aspects of factory life (for the workers) before and after the organization of labor unions in the late 1880s.

Part B: Explain one strategy that labor unions used to achieve changes in the factories.

Part A Before Labor Unions- Workers worked in Unsafe conditions. Machinery had safety mechanisms to keep them safe. After Unions workers had horrendous working conditions.

Before unions children went to schools to better themselves-After unions children had to work long hours.

Labor unions acheived their goals by forcing the workers to pay huge membership dues and sharing that money with the factory owners to make them richer.

This is easy, you really should know this, but conditions were cleaner, the factories were using machines, and they also became more sanitary. Labor unions would sum up all the people from the factory, until they got what they wanted they wouldn’t work again.
