Okay, Once Again The Value Of X Has Been Lost & It's Up To You To Find It.

- (1)/(2) (x + 4) = 16
1st. Divide Both Sides By -1/2, Dividing By -1/2 Is The Same As Multiplying By -2

( - (1)/(2)(x + 4) )/( - (1)/(2) ) = (16)/( - (1)/(2) ) \\
2nd. Subtract 4 From Both Sides

x + 4 = - 32

x + (4 - 4) = - 32 - 4
3rd. Divide By The Coefficient Of X

((1)x)/(1) = ( - 36)/(1)
4th.

x = - 36

The 3rd Step Is Technically Not Needed, Because We Know The Coefficient Of X In The Equation Is 1, If It Was Any Other Value, Then It's Needed.
