we know that

shape of room is always rectangle

length = y meters

width =y-5 meters

now, we can find perimeter

perimeter=2*length +2*width

we can plug values

P=2y+2(y-5)

now, we are given

this perimeter is 4y+1

so, we can set it equal to 4y+1

4y+1=2y+2(y-5)

now, we can solve for y

4y+1=4y-10

we can subtract both sides by 4y

4y+1-4y=4y-4y-10

1=-10

we know that 1 can not be equal to 10

so, we can not solve for y by this information

so, this is impossible o find length with this information...........Answer
