Roger lives in Orlando but just started a new job in Tampa. Every Monday he drives his car 95 miles from Orlando to Tampa, spends the week in a company apartment, and then drives back to Orlando on Friday. He doesn't use his car for anything else. After 20 weeks of this, his odometer shows that he has travelled 84,000 miles since he bought the car. a) Write a linear model which gives the odometer reading of the car as a function of the number of weeks since Roger started the new job.

Roger lives in Orlando but he will be driving to Tampa for his job.

He drives 95 miles every week.

So the equation to represent Roger's travel of each week for one side is given by :

d= 95 * x

He comes back home driving equal distance, that implies he drives 95 miles back home:

So the equation that can represent the odometer reading of the car as a function of the number of weeks since he started to travel for the new job is given by:

D=(95+95) * x

D=180 * x

D=180x

Where D, is the total distance and 'x' is the number of weeks.
