what is the slope and y-intercept?

slope (m) can be found by counting rise over run. From (0,0) to (6,1) you go up (rise) 6 units and to the right (run) 1 unit. So, the slope is
(6)/(1) = 6

y-intercept (b) is where the line crosses the y-axis. It crosses when y = 0

Plug in slope (m = 6) and y-intercept (b = 0) into the slope-intercept formula:

y = mx + b

y = 6x + 0

y = 6x
