A standard deck of 52 playing cards has 4 suits: diamonds, hearts, clubs, and spades. Clubs and spades are black. Diamonds and hearts are red. Each suit has 13 13 cards (an ace, 2−10 , a jack, a queen, and a king). What is the probability of choosing a random card from the deck and getting a queen or a red 5 ? Enter your answer as a fraction, in lowest terms, using the / symbol, like this: 42/53

Probability of getting a Queen:
There are 4 queens in a deck, so 4/52

Probability of getting a 5:
There are 4 5s in a deck, so 4/52

The question asks for the probability of one OR the other, so add them both together:
8/52

Then simplify:
2/13
