Okay first off you need to use the Pythagorean Theorem Equation:

a^2 + b^2 = c^2

Now since we know a = 9, and b = 12 we can plug those in :)

9^2 + 12^2 = c^2

Remember 9^2 = 81, 12^2 = 144

81 + 144 = c^2

Now add those together m

225 = c^2

Now we need to square root both sides to get rid of the power of 2

square root(225) = square root(c^2)

So the answer is ——> c = 15

Answer:

15

Explanation:

It's a right angle triangle so we can use the pythogorean theorem to solve for Hypotenuse

{a}^(2) + {b}^(2) = {c}^(2)

So if we apply this formula,

{9}^(2) + {12}^(2) = {c}^(2)

81 + 144 = {c}^(2)

225 = {c}^(2)

c = √(225)

c = 15

Hope this helps :)
