The word choice in Virginia Wolf´s A Room for One´s Own is in general terms a journey into the seeking of the oil of truth. Sitting down, getting a room for your own has the intention of discovering the truth. The word choice in Wolf´s work, tends to state the foundations of her thoughts regarding the meaning of what it is to be a woman in contemporary society, more than that, stating what precisely it is to be a woman. And the evidence, the quotes she brings to her arguments are those of the disproportion, the bias of human history who leans towards men and places women in an inferior condition, in the betrothal or the permission for wife beating, in the denial of the right to choose a profession, a lifestyle, a husband. Then, the tone denounces how along history the figure of women has been built upon the basis of undermining women´s liberty, to the point this supposedly inferiority idea is an ingrained concept in modern society, that people take for granted, that we should call “normal”, being accepted even by some women.
