Given

A property manager charges $59 per month plus 8% of the rent

(1 ) First find out equation to represent the total monthly fees charged by the property manager.

To proof

let us assume that x be the total monthly fees charged by the property manager

let y fees charged by the property manager through property.

8 % written in the simpler form =
(8)/(100)

= .08

equation becomes

.08 y + 59 = x

(2) given

jack pays to property manager $165 each month

Find out monthly rent on property

equation becomes

.08 y + 59 = 165

solving the above equation

we get

.08 y = 165 - 59

.08 y = 106

y = 1325

(3) Given

jack raises the rent on the house to $1,495

find out much more will he pay the property manager each month

when $ 1325 is the rent of the house.

8 % of the rent = .08 × 1325

=$ 106

when $ 1495 is the rent of the house

8% of the rent = .08 × 1495

=$119.6

more pay to the property manager = $ 119.6 - $106

= $13.6

Hence proved
