Hello!

To find how many loads it will take to haul all of the cement they bought, we need to divide by the total amount of cement, which is 61/3 tons, by 3/4 tons, which is the amount of cement the truck can carry at a time.

When dividing using fractions, remember that dividing by a fraction is like multiplying its reciprocal. This means that 3/4 is flipped to 4/3 and is multiplied by 61/3.

61/3 ÷ 3/4 → 61/3 × 4/3 = 244/9

244/9 = 27 1/9 or ≈ 27.1

Since the pickup truck can't do 1/9th of a load, it would be rounded up to 28 loads.

Therefore, it will take 28 loads for Evie and Sophia to haul of the cement to create the patio.

A contractor says the cement will weigh 61⁄3 tons.

6(1)/(3) =(19)/(3) tons

Sophia to haul all of the cement in their pickup truck, which can carry 3⁄4 ton

Truck can carry 3/4 ton in 1 load

(19)/(3) tons in how many loads

((19)/(3))/((3)/(4))

Multiply by the reciprocal of 3/4

(19)/(3) * (4)/(3)

(76)/(9) = 8.44

it will take
(76)/(9) or
8(4)/(9) loads for Evie and Sophia to haul all of the cement in their pickup truck.
