I am thinking of a number. If you take half my number and then add 22 you will get 6 times my number. What is my number? Please help and show work

multiply everything by 2

$x + 44 = 12 * x \\ x - 12 * x = - 44 \\ - 11 * x = - 44 \\ x = ( - 44)/( - 11) \\ x = 4$
