Solution: Experimental probability is ratio of the number of times an event occurs to the total number of trials of the experiment.

Probability =(Number-of-times-an-event-occurs)/(Total-number-of-trials)

We are given:

Number of people struck by lightning in a particular city
=97

Total number of people in a particular city
=1.3 million=1,300,000

Therefore the experimental probability of being struck by lightning in this city is:

Probability=(97)/(1,300,000)

=0.0000746
