do I include the whole sentence or just the part of the sentence I need?

I suggest to use the part that you need so you can analyze better and explain it, without having information that isn’t relevant to the topic your writing. Also Use TAG when introducing a quote (Title, Author, Genre). For at-least one time for one source. Another thing is don’t use too much quotes within your writing you can shorten them by paraphrasing. Hope this helped :)

Answer/Explanation:

When I quote sentences for essays I tend only to include the part I need.

Instead of writing out the whole sentence put "..." in place.

"... (needed information)" (author's last name, page number).

I hope this helps!
