*assuming the pool is filled at a constant, steady rate*
*we can immediately see that if

(1)/(2) = 500
then in half the time (divide both by 2)

(1)/(4) = 250
and again in half of that time (divide by 2 again)

(1)/(8) = 125
now to find 5/8, we simply multiply 1/8 by 5

(5)/(8) = 625

Answer:

Number of hours 1/8 1/4 1/2 5/8

Gallons filled 125 250 500 625

Explanation:

Consider the provided table.

From the table it is given that, for 1/2 hours gallon filled in pool is 500.

This can be written as:

1/2 hours = 500 gallon

Multiply both the sides by 2.

1 hours = 1000 gallon

For 1/8 hours:

Divide both sides by 8.

1÷8 hours = 1000÷8 gallon

1/8 hours = 1000/8 gallon

1/8 hours = 125 gallon

For 1/4 hours:

Divide both sides by 4.

1÷4 hours = 1000÷4 gallon

1/4 hours = 1000/4 gallon

1/4 hours = 250 gallon

For 5/8 hours:

Multiply both the sides by 5/8

1×5/8 hours = 1000×5/8 gallon

5/8 hours = 125×5 gallon

5/8 hours = 625 gallon

Hence, the required table is:

Number of hours 1/8 1/4 1/2 5/8

Gallons filled 125 250 500 625
