1. 5/6-(-3/8)=5/6 +5/8
Subtracting a negative is the same as adding a positive
2.Find the common denominater
5/6+3/8=20/24+9/24
24 is the least common multiple of denominator 6 and 8
Answer is 29/24 or 1 5/4
