AIDS is Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome, the final stage of HIV. It is a chronic and life threatening disease caused by the human immunodeficiency virus or HIV. It attacks and severely weaken the immune system and the human body gradually loses its ability to fight with infections.

The onset of AIDS take several years as HIV destroys the crucial immunity cells of our body known as T cells or CD4 cells. The virus slowly kills the good and healthy cells and weakens the body to such extent that it cannot sustain minor infections also.
