Perimeter of the figure is 12√2 units.

How to determine the perimeter of a plane figure.

The distances between consecutive pairs of points can be calculated using the distance formula:

d = \sqrt{ {x1 - x2)}^(2) + {(y1 - y2)}^(2) }

Distance between A(-5,4) and B(0,3):

√{(0 - (-5))² + (3 - 4)²}

= √{5² + (-1)²}

= √{26} = 5.09

Distance between B(0,3) and C(4,-1):

√{(4 - 0)² + ((-1) - 3)²}

= √{4² + (-4)²}

= √{32} = 4√2

Distance between C(4,-1) and E(2,-3):

√{(4 - 2)² + ((-3) - (-1))²}

= √{4 + 4} = √8

= 2√2

Distance between E(2,-3) and F(-2,1):

√{(2 - (-2))² + ((-3) - 1)²}

= √{(4)² + (-4)²}

= √32 = 4√2

Distance between F(-2,1) and B(0,3) can be

√{(0 - (-2))² + (3 - 1)²}

= √{(-2)² + 2²}

= √{8} = 2√2

Perimeter = BC + CE + EF + FB

P = 2(4√2 + 2√2)

P = 12√2 units

Therefore, perimeter of the figure is 12√2 units.

For length BC, where B(0,3) and C(4,-1)
following the axis, length ranges from 0 to 4(according to xaxis) and 3 to -1(according to yaxis) thus 4-0=4,3-(-1)=4 will give u length of 4 for BC.

For length EC, where E(2,-3) and C(4,-1)
following the axis,length ranges from 2 to 4(according to xaxis) and -3 to -1(according to yaxis), thus 4-2=2,-1-(-3)=2 will give u length of 2 for EC.
(its 4-2 and -1-(-3) not 2-4 and -3-(-1) as length cannot be -ve)

For lengths BF and EF, since BF//EC, BF=2. Since EF//BC, EF=4

Thus 4+2+4+2= 12 units
