If f(x)=7-3x and g(x)=3x-7, what is the value of f(1) + g(1)

For this question, simply plug in the value of x, as shown below.


f(1) = 7 - 3(1)


f(1) = 7 - 3

f(1) = 4



g(1) = 3(1) - 7


g(1) = 3 - 7

g(1) = -4

4 + (-4) is zero, but the answer has to be more than or equal to zero to make sense, so f(1) + g(1) ≥ 0.
