Find the measure if two complementary angles if the measure of the larger angle is 10 more than the measure of the smaller angle.​

Answer: 50° and 40°

Explanation:

Complementary angles add up to 90°

Smaller angle - x

Larger angle - 10 + x

10 + x + x = 90

10 + 2x = 90

Subtract 10 from both sides

2x = 80

Divide both sides by 2

x = 40

Larger angle - 10 + x

10 + 40 = 50

The measure of the smaller angle is 40° and the measure of the larger angle is 50°
