We can solve this problem by division- What information can we gather?

  • The ball reaches half its original hight each time it bounces, which is another way of saying it divides by 2 each time
  • It bounced three times.
  1. If we divide 16 by 2, we get 8.
  2. If we divide 8 by 2, we get 4
  3. If we divide 4 by 2, we get 2.

The answer is 2

Hope this helps!

If we divide 16 by 2, we get 8.

If we divide 8 by 2, we get 4

If we divide 4 by 2, we get 2.

So, the answer to your question is 2
