What is the product of 1 1/2 and −1 1/4 ?

Equation:

1 1/2 * −1 1/4

Left Improper Conversion =

1 * 2/ 1 * 2 + 1/2

Left Improper Fraction =

3/2

Right Improper Conversion =

-1 * 4/ 1 * 4 + -1/4

Right Improper Fraction

-5/4

Multiply:

3/2 * -5/4

Answer = -15/8

Greatest Common Divisor (GCD) = 1

Divide by GCD = - 15/1 / 8/ 1

Answer (Simplified) = - 15/8

Answer (Mixed) = - 1 7/8
