If a function, f(x) is shifted to the left 4 units, what will the transformed function look like?

Horizontal translation shifts a function left or right to its initial position. If f(x) is a function and it's shifted c units to the left, then the translated function would be f(x+c) and for c units to the right, the translated function would be f(x-c). Here, the function has been shifted four units to the left. For this reason, the transformed function looks like f(x+4).
