Answer : The map needs to be reproduce at a scale of 4 inches so it can fit in a brochure.

Explanation :

Length of rectangular park = 4 inches

Breadth of rectangular park = 6 inches

∴ Area of rectangular park = length × breadth

= 4×6

= 24 square inches

Since the map needs to be reproduce at a different scale so that it has an area of 6 square inches and can fit in a brochure.

So, scale needs to be reproduce =
(24)/(6)

= 4 inches

∴ The map should be reproduce to 4 inches scale to get fit in a brochure.

To solve this problelm you must apply the proccedure shown below:

1. The area of the map of the rectangular park is:

A=(4in)(6in)\\ A=24in^(2)

2. You know that 6 square inches must represent 24 square inches, therefore, you have that the scale is:

6:24

3. Simplify it by dividing by six:

1:4

Therefore, as you can see, the answer is:
1:4.
