Plug in the solutions into the function y = x + 8

(-2 , 6)

So

y = x + 8

6 = -2 + 8

6 = 6 True

(4 , 12)

y = x + 8

12 = 4 + 8

12 = 12 True

Plug in the solutions into the function 2y = x^2 + 8

(-2 , 6)

2y = x^2 + 8

2(6) = (-2)^2 + 8

12 = 4 + 8

12 = 12 True

(4 , 12)

2y = x^2 + 8

2(12) = (4)^4 + 8

24 = 16 + 8

24 = 24 True
