What is the value of m in the equation 1/2m -3/4 n = 16, when n = 8?

since n = 8 we can substitute this value into the equation.

1/2m - 3*8/4 = 16

1/2m - 24/4 = 16

1/2m - 6 = 16

1/2m = 16 + 6 = 22

1/2m = 22/1

1*1 = 2m*22 = 44m

m = 1/44

Answer m = 1/44

Hope this helps!

Hi,

Equation;

n = 8 \\ (1)/(2) m - (3)/(4) n = 16

Variable n is given so no need to write it down. Instead use 8.

Solving:

(1)/(2) m - (3)/(4) 8 = 16 \\ (1)/(2) m - 3 * 2 = 16 \\ (1)/(2) m - 6 = 16 \: \: \: | * 2 \\ m - 12 = 32 \\ m = 32 + 12 \\ \\ m = 44 \: \: \: \: \: \: \: (result)

Hope this helps.
