Write the equation of the line that passes through the points (3,7) and (-1,2) in point-slope form and slope-intercept form. I am stuck on how to do this.

First, find the slope (m): m =
(y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1) =
(7 - 2)/(3 - (-1)) =
(5)/(4)

Next, input ONE of the points (x₁, y₁) and the slope into the Point-Slope formula:

y - y₁ = m(x - x₁)

y - 7 =
(5)/(4)(x - 3)

Lastly, isolate "y" to find the Slope-Intercept formula: y = mx + b

y - 7 =
(5)/(4)x -
(15)/(4)

y =
(5)/(4x) +
(13)/(4)
