For problems 1 – 6, graph each function. Label the vertex and axis of symmetry.

1. y=x^2-2x-1

2. y-3=(x+2)^2

3. y=(x+3)(x-4)

4. y=2x^2-12x-19

5. y-9=-5(x-2)^2

1.
y=x^(2) -2x-1

a= 1 , b= -2 , c= -1

(-b)/(2a)
(- (-2))/(2 times 1)

x=1

now use the x value to find y

y=1^(2) -2 times 1 - 1

y = -2

vertex (1,-2)

For problems 1 – 6, graph each function. Label the vertex and axis of symmetry. 1. y-example-1
